It is important to know which account you are trading in at all times to avoid trading in an incorrect account than intended. Directions on how to switch between your open accounts within the trading platform are below:
Note: If you are unable to see your account name on your platform click here first.
You can view the account name that’s logged in on the top right corner of the Tradovate platform. To switch to another open Tradovate account within the platform, click on the account name in the top right corner of the platform.
After clicking on the account name, the drop-down menu will appear showing the available accounts to switch to and from. After selecting the account you would like to trade in, it will appear in the top right corner confirming that you are trading in this account.
If you are using the Tradovate desktop download version as shown below, you have the option to open modules and move them on your screen(s). If you have multiple monitors this can be useful for setting up your layout. Each module opened will allow you to view and change the account you are trading in.
Note: Your Practice account will start with “PRACTST” as the account name to clarify the difference between your Trading Combine account and your Practice account. Switching an account on one module will not change the account on the other module. It is important to know which account you are trading in at all times to avoid trading in an incorrect account than intended.
Your Trading Combine account with NinjaTrader comes with a SIM101 account that NinjaTrader provides for practice. TopstepTrader cannot view trades executed on SIM101.
When Global Simulation Mode is enabled, all order entry interfaces (SuperDOM, Chart Trader, etc.) will be set exclusively to the Sim101 account. To enable and disable Global Simulation Mode, click "File" for NT7 or "Tools" for NT8 on the Control Center and click "Global Simulation Mode”.
Note: When there is a checkmark next to "Global Simulation Mode" this means that SIM101 is currently enabled. Clicking it will disable the connection.
To change between accounts on the SuperDOM or Chart Trader, click on the “Account” drop-down menu and you will see your accounts available to trade on.
Note: Changing an account on the Chart will not change the account on the SuperDOM.
